Fall Fertility Planning: A Fresh Start for Your Fertility Journey
Dr. Lee Caperton • October 19, 2026 • 2 min read
Fall is a season of change, reflection, and new beginnings. As temperatures cool and routines settle, it’s also a great opportunity to focus on your health and future family-building goals.
A Season of Change: Prioritizing Your Fertility Health This Fall
At Caperton Fertility Institute, we encourage patients to take a proactive approach to reproductive health. Whether you’re trying to conceive, considering IVF, or simply exploring your options, understanding your fertility is an important first step.
3 Ways to Prioritize Your Fertility This Fall
1. Get to Know Your Fertility
Understanding your reproductive health can help you make informed decisions. Fertility evaluations may include hormone testing, ultrasounds, and semen analysis to identify potential challenges.
Generally, we recommend seeking a fertility evaluation after 12 months of trying to conceive if you’re under 35, or after six months if you’re 35 or older. Earlier evaluation may be appropriate depending on your medical history.
2. Focus on Healthy Habits
Small lifestyle changes can support your overall reproductive wellness. Maintaining balanced nutrition, getting adequate sleep, exercising regularly, and avoiding tobacco can help you prepare for pregnancy.
If you’re planning to conceive, talk with your healthcare provider about prenatal vitamins and any medications or supplements you’re taking.
3. Explore Your Fertility Options
Not every fertility journey requires IVF. Depending on your individual needs, treatment options may include ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), or fertility preservation.
Meeting with a fertility specialist can help you better understand which options may be appropriate for you.
A New Season, New Possibilities
While fall doesn’t necessarily improve fertility outcomes, it can be a meaningful time to set goals, ask questions, and plan for the future.
At Caperton Fertility Institute, we proudly provide personalized fertility care in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and El Paso, Texas.
If you’ve been thinking about taking the next step in your fertility journey, this fall may be the perfect time to start the conversation.
